A woman climbing Streptococcus at Seneca this weekend fell and died
instantly
after one of her two pieces pulled. Amy Stine was from the Pittsburgh area,

A climber fell to his death while climbing apparently on Three Pines at the
Gunks yesterday. Reported at the main discussion board at Gunks.com. Not
many details.

A British climber was found frozen in a snow hole on Mont Blanc. His partner
made it back down alive. This has been a very bad weather year for climbing

Miha Valic is dead

Today I have received the very sad and shocking news from mu Slovenian
friends:

Miha Valic died during the descent from Cho Oyu.

My God man, you were much too young and had so much more to give.

Friends witness British teenager plunge to his death

An 18 year old British climber just perished while climbing at Les Gaillands
in
the Chamonix Valley. Apparently he tried to rappel off only one end of the
rope
and subsequently fell. I seems too many accidents happen on rappel.

周一刚回来就听人说了Seneca Rock的那个。还没看到technical report
第二个也run out得太厉害了。每次听人说free solo个lower 5.x就觉得基本没谱的事情

上次在seneca rocks碰到一个高手，不带头盔，带个baseball cap，一路上去还不太放
protection。我
就不停的告诫自己和partner,以后即使技术提高了，也一定互相提醒，不能这样。上次
我说不要觉得自己厉害
就去free solo，还有不少人反对。我情愿保险点，反正我是不会free solo的。

你这个想法没错. 不过很多时候,尤其是在real mountain climb的时候,为了速度,不得
不牺牲一些安全性. 其实,高手们往往就是在觉得简单,不会出事的地方,真正的出了事
