Interest Areas
The focus is on enzyme engineering and nanotechnology. One major effort is
on the development of nanostructured biocatalysts for applications such as
chemical processing, drug synthesis, pollutant degradation, biosensors and
biofuel cells. In another thrust, we explore unique biomaterials including
bioactive surfactants, nanofibrous proteins, and nanoporous bioreactors.
